Mr Hemant Thakral

Hemant Thakral completed his initial medical degree and Masters in India, before continuing his education in the UK. He has considerable experience in shoulder arthroscopic surgery, particularly complicated joint replacements for arthritis and trauma. After considerable experience with hand surgeries, he is recognised for his expertise in carpal tunnel release and Dupuytren's surgery, plus wrist surgery including fusions and scaphoid fractures.

Dr. Thakral is committed to educating and training younger doctors and is a GMC registered trainer. He especially enjoys his role teaching junior surgeons and being an examiner for Orthopaedics MSc.

Currently working at Benenden Hospital, he is also a NHS Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon working with the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust since 2007, specialising in upper limb surgery.
