Resch ist Autor zahlreicher Publikationen in internationalen Fachzeitschriften und hat an mehreren Büchern und Buchkapiteln mitgewirkt.
Dr. med. Resch schloss sein Medizinstudium an der Universität Wien ab, wo er 1981 promovierte. Seine Ausbildung zum Facharzt für Innere Medizin absolvierte er am Krankenhaus der Barmherzigen Brüder in Wien.
Dr. med. Resch engagiert sich in der medizinischen Ausbildung und Lehre.
