Dr Gowri was born and raised in a rural location. They are passionate about providing medical care to people in rural communities. Dr Gowri has a particular interest in maternity and women's health services. They completed medical school in 1993 and then undertook specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in London, England. Following this, they worked in Papua New Guinea, where they gained experience in trauma, emergency medicine and rural general practice. Dr Gowri has extensive surgical experience and operating skills in obstetrics and gynaecology, in addition to their general practice and emergency medicine skills.
