Mr Ewan Gillon

Mr Ewan Gillon is a Consultant Counselling and Health Psychologist. He established First Psychology in 2009 with the intention of developing a truly client-focused and professional therapy service offering a broad range of evidence-based counselling, CBT and psychological approaches to clients. The service has developed since this time. In addition to a clinical career, Mr Gillon has been involved in research and training in counselling, therapy and applied psychology and holds the title of Emeritus Professor in Applied Psychology.

Mr Gillon works from a pluralistic orientation which means that he uses a range of different approaches depending on the client's needs and preferences. He views therapy as a collaborative activity and seeks to work with all clients to understand the nature of the difficulties being experienced and then to address these in a constructive and helpful way that the client is happy with. He draws heavily on the principles of humanistic counselling in his work in addition to CBT and solution-focused models.
