He completed his medical degree at Cairo University, Egypt, in 1989, followed by a Master's degree (MSc) in Ophthalmology at the same university in 1994. Dr. El Toukhy later became a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK) in 1997, followed by his MD in Ophthalmology from Cairo University in 1999.
Dr El Toukhy's expertise includes a broad range of oculoplastic procedures. His areas of interest include tears measurements, treatment options for dry eyes, prevention and non-surgical treatment of chalazia, ptosis treatment, entropion and ectropion correction, blepharoplasty, wrinkle treatment, lacrimal obstruction management, lid masses and tumours treatment. He also has specialist expertise in congenital lid anomalies management, facial nerve palsy treatment, thyroid eye diseases management, and orbital tumours and fractures treatment.
