Dr Ebtessam Hassanin is a well experienced Specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Prime Hospital and Prime Medical Center Mizhar, Dubai. She completed her MBBS degree at Tanta University, Egypt in 1991 and later completed her Master's Degree in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Ain Shams University, Egypt in 1999. She also holds a Professional Membership with the American Academy of Aesthetic Gynecology.
After qualifying in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr Hassanin began working with the Egypt Health Insurance Authority, later joining the private health sector between 1992 and 2002. In 2002, she moved to Saudi Arabia and began working at a leading hospital, Al Ahli Hospital for 10 years. In this position, Dr Hassanin specialised in dealing with high-risk obstetric and gynaecological cases.
She began working her current post at Prime Hospital, Dubai in 2012. In her current position, Dr Hassanin manages both normal and high-risk pregnancy cases as well as provides services for common and complex gynaecological conditions. She typically sees women struggling with: recurrent pregnancy loss, infertility, PCOS, abnormal uterine bleeding, UTIs, fibroids and endometriosis. She is well skilled in performing a number of surgical and non-surgical procedures, including: colposcopy, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, hysterectomy, myomectomy and vaginal repair. Dr Hassanin also has special interests in cosmetic gynaecology and menopause management.
