Dr Kurt Ayerst is a Senior Dermatology Consultant with nearly 3 decades of experience in managing patients with dermatological disease. He has worked in the national health services of both the United Kingdom and South Africa for 25 years and used time while on a career break from his NHS clinical practice to pursue national and international projects through the health, private and charity sectors. He also works with international partners in research and developing tools for remote assessment and diagnostics withing AI and dermoscopy.

His clinical interests include skin cancer management, complex medical dermatology, dermoscopy and teledermatology, skin lesions including moles, lumps and bumps. Apart from lesional work he advises on inflammatory dermatoses including acne, eczemas, psoriasis and other conditions.

Dr Ayerst is primarily a dermatology generalist with dual accreditation and expertise in both medical and surgical management of patients across the full age range (but reducing paediatric services) as a South African trained and UK acreditted dermatologist. His Professional Memberships include the British Association of Dermatology, European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and the Irish Medical Council.
