About Dr Danny Cheung
Dr Danny Cheung is an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist, practicing at Worcestershire Royal Hospital since 2016. He specialises in the diagnosis and management of all aspects of gastroenterology, liver disease, and gastrointestinal cancer. In addition to his work at Worcestershire Royal, he also sees private patients at The Droitwich Spa Hospital. Dr Cheung is an experienced endoscopist with full Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation, consistently delivering high-quality care, as reflected in excellent patient feedback. Dr Cheung graduated from King's College London Medical School in 2002. After obtaining full membership with the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) London, he began his specialist training in Gastroenterology within the West Midlands Deanery in 2009. His training included a year at the liver transplant unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. In 2016, he earned accreditation in both Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine. Dr Cheung was awarded an MD by the University of Birmingham after completing two years as a Clinical Research Fellow during his higher training. His research focused on improving the diagnosis of gastrointestinal cancers, resulting in over 20 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. He has presented his findings at both national and international medical conferences, earning multiple prizes and travel fellowships for his work. He continues to contribute to medical research as a Principal Investigator (PI) for his NHS trust. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Cheung is an examiner for the University of Birmingham and serves as an accredited Educational Supervisor with the Royal College of Physicians, mentoring doctors in training. He is also a JAG-accredited endoscopy trainer and currently leads the Worcestershire Endoscopy Training Academy.
