Dr Daniel Narayan
Ophthalmology
About
He completed his medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2013, graduating with multiple academic awards, including the prestigious David Crompton Prize in Ophthalmology and the Florey Honours Scholarship. His Honours research in glaucoma earned him First Class Honours.
Following medical school, Dr Narayan was awarded an APA scholarship to complete a Master of Philosophy, focusing on retinitis pigmentosa. He was later appointed as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney in recognition of his academic contributions.
Dr Narayan completed his ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital and pursued further subspecialty training in complex cataract and glaucoma surgery in Auckland, New Zealand. He subsequently worked as a consultant ophthalmologist in New Zealand, where he was actively involved in teaching and supervising ophthalmology trainees.
Now based in Sydney, Dr Narayan brings a broad skillset and a patient-centred approach to his practice. He regularly treats advanced glaucoma and high-risk cataracts and remains at the forefront of innovation by incorporating the latest technology and surgical techniques into his work.
He performs the full range of glaucoma procedures, including trabeculectomy, glaucoma drainage device surgery, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS). In addition, he offers refractive cataract surgery, intravitreal injections, glaucoma laser, and retinal laser treatments.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
