About Mr Craig Jones
Mr Craig Jones is a Consultant Urological Surgeon specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of urological cancers, with a particular focus on prostate cancer. His clinical practice includes the management of both early-stage and advanced prostate cancer, as well as benign prostatic enlargement and lower urinary tract symptoms. He performs procedures such as multiparametric MRI interpretation, targeted transperineal prostate biopsies under local anaesthetic, and robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy. During his undergraduate studies he also obtained a Master of Research (MRes) in Oncology with Distinction. He later completed higher surgical training in general and urological surgery in the North West of England and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Urology (FRCS Urol), receiving the Keith Yeates Gold Medal for his performance in the examination. He subsequently completed a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2023. Alongside his clinical work, Mr Jones has been involved in academic research focusing on prostate cancer and the musculoskeletal effects of treatments for advanced prostate cancer. His research has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals, and he remains involved in clinical research, including participation in the STAMPEDE and STAMPEDE2 trial management groups. Mr Jones also serves as the Early Diagnosis Lead for Urological Cancers at the Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance, where he works with primary care teams to support improvements in diagnostic pathways.
