She holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology, specialising in Neuropsychology and Clinical Neurosciences from Toulouse Jean Jaures University in France. She is licensed by the ARS (Agence Regionale de Santé) in France and by the Dubai Health Authorities (DHA) in the UAE.
Dr. Khalil has a background in scientific research in clinical psychology, neuropsychology, and fundamental neurosciences. She has given lectures at Toulouse II University, covering topics in neuroanatomy and clinical neuropsychology for undergraduate and graduate students. In her previous roles, she worked as a Neuropsychologist in various healthcare settings, including psychiatry, neurology, and geriatrics, providing comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological assessments to inpatients and outpatients. Her expertise lies in traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, neurodegenerative diseases (such as dementias), cerebrovascular diseases (strokes, aneurysms), and psychiatric disorders. She has recently expanded her work to include children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr. Khalil is currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on autobiographical memory and the sense of identity. She believes in the importance of therapy and offers person-centred therapy sessions, both one-on-one and in groups, as well as skill training sessions aimed at improving the quality of life by developing solution-focused strategies. Her therapeutic approach includes cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and brief psychodynamic therapy (BPT), which can effectively address mood disorders, anxiety disorders, health anxiety, personality disorders, grief and loss, trauma-related difficulties, self-esteem and self-confidence, attachment and relationship difficulties.
In addition to therapy, Dr. Khalil provides patient therapeutic education sessions (psychoeducation) for individuals dealing with the onset of dementia, chronic pain or illnesses, as well as seminars on the Montessori method for the elderly, reminiscence therapy, and cognitive mediation for healthcare professionals and caregivers of dementia patients. She also offers supervision for psychologists in training. Dr. Khalil offers her services both online and in person, providing sessions in Arabic, English, or French.
