Dr Bijan Shahrad is a Consultant Paediatrician with extensive experience in general and emergency paediatrics. He has particular subspecialty interests in paediatric gastroenterology and respiratory medicine.
He is the Lead for Gastroenterology at North Middlesex University Hospital and also holds an honorary consultant post at Great Ormond Street Hospital, working closely with the gastroenterology team there for complex cases requiring further investigation. His expertise includes the management of constipation, acid reflux, coeliac disease and a broad range of gastroenterological conditions.
As one of the respiratory leads, Dr Shahrad manages children with asthma, chronic cough, recurrent chest infections and other respiratory disorders. His general paediatric practice covers developmental concerns, recurrent infections, growth problems, allergies, headaches and a wide spectrum of childhood conditions.
Dr Shahrad completed his medical training with membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics in 2014, and has trained at leading centres including the Royal Brompton Hospital, The Royal London Hospital, University College London Hospital, and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He also spent part of his early paediatric career at Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Shahrad has received recognition through local and national awards for his contributions to paediatric care.
