Dr Ben Pang is a Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist at the Melbourne Cardiology Group and Associate Professor at the University of Notre Dame. He completed his primary medical degree at Monash University in 2001, during which he also completed his Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree with honours.
After qualifying, he completed a Fellowship in Echocardiography at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, followed by a Fellowship in Pacing at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and a Fellowship in Cardiac Rhythm Management at Monash Heart. During this time, Dr Pang also completed his PhD at Melbourne University. Dr Pang has recently completed a 2-year Fellowship at the University of Ottawa, Canada which focused on cardiac rhythm management using pacing and electrophysiology. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2012.
Dr Pang has expertise in the management of all aspects of general cardiology, with special interests in heart failure and catheter ablation for atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, syncope, ventricular tachycardia and supraventricular tachycardia. He also has particular interests in managing arrhythmias using implant pacemakers and implantable defibrillators, as well as cardiac resynchronisation therapy for heart failure.
Dr Pang is known for his caring, compassionate nature and excellent communication which puts his patients at ease. Outside of consulting, he has presented his work both nationally and internationally and has published several papers in his area of expertise.
