Dr Bassam Mohanad Ahmad is a Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Mediclinic Al Madar, where he provides expert care across a broad range of complex dental and surgical procedures. He holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) from Baghdad University and became a member of the Iraqi Board for Medical Specializations (F.I.B.M.S.) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2008
Following his graduation in 1999, Dr. Bassam trained in oral and maxillofacial surgery at a teaching hospital in Baghdad Medical City
He later expanded his clinical skills with training in laser applications for oral treatments in Radolfzell, Germany, and further specialised in implant dentistry, bone augmentation techniques
Since joining Mediclinic in 2011, Dr Bassam has developed extensive expertise in procedures such as dental implants, maxillary sinus lifting (crestal & lateral), full arch implant placement, facial bone reconstruction using autogenous bone grafting, cyst enucleation and surgical extractions of impacted or severely damaged teeth
He also treats maxillofacial trauma and performs procedures under general anaesthesia
His clinical skills include apicoectomy, exposure of impacted canines for orthodontic attachment, oral lesion excision and biopsy, gum depigmentation using diode laser, bone grafting, gingivectomy by laser
He also provides TMJ pain management through laser therapy or appliance-based approaches
