Dr. Basil Al Sharef is a German and Swiss board-certified Senior Consultant Spine and Scoliosis Surgeon with over 20 years of international experience in Germany, Switzerland, and Dubai. He graduated in 2005 from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Kiel, Germany, and completed his residency training at some of Germany's most prestigious orthopedic and spine centers, where he was mentored by the renowned Prof. Juergen Harms.
Dr. Al Sharef has served as a Consultant and Senior Consultant Spine Surgeon at leading spine surgery and scoliosis centres in Germany and Switzerland until 2019. He treats all spinal pathologies in both adults and children, covering every region of the spine. Dr. Al Sharef specialises in the surgical management of spinal instabilities, such as slipping vertebrae and fractures, as well as spinal deformities including scoliosis, hyperkyphosis, and spondylolisthesis. He is also an expert in treating compressive pathologies of the spinal cord and nerves, such as tumors, disc herniation, and spinal canal stenosis, along with degenerative conditions like osteochondrosis.
