About
Dr Sathu completed his medical degree at the University of Auckland in 2001 before completing his specialist orthopaedic training at the New Zealand Orthopaedic training program. He completed his comprehensive training in Dunedin, Hamilton, and Auckland and became a Fellow in Orthopaedics of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2013.
Dr Sathu completed further training with two years of lower limb subspeciality fellowships in the UK at the Exeter Primary and Revision Hip Replacement Fellowship in 2014 and a six-month Hip and Knee Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship in Sydney. His dedication to further specialisation led him to successfully complete the Brisbane Foot and Ankle Fellowship under the guidance of esteemed surgeons Dr Terry Saxby, Dr Ben Forster and Dr Michael Lutz in 2015.
Dr Sathu has expertise in a wide range of hip, knee, foot and ankle treatments, including: hip replacement surgery (including anterior hip replacement), knee replacement surgery, hip arthroscopy and knee arthroscopy, foot and ankle surgery and revision surgery.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Sathu has published articles in orthopaedic journals and continues to be involved in active research at Mater Hospital Brisbane. Dr Sathu also plays an essential role in educating medical students, registrars and fellows in the field of orthopaedic surgery.
