Dr Ali Sheikh
Rheumatology
About
In addition to NHS work, Dr. Sheikh runs a private practice at Red Rose Healthcare in Bury, UK. He also supports NHS through waiting list initiatives. Dr. Sheikh is a keen educator and enjoys teaching junior colleagues alongside his clinical duties. He has additionally served General Medical Council in the role of an examiner and assessor. Besides English, he is proficient in Urdu and Punjabi which allows direct consultations in these other languages if aligns with patient preferences.
Inspired by Hunter Doherty ''Patch'' Adams, Dr. Sheikh is a keen advocate of Clown therapy and enjoys inculcating humour into his practice. Several rheumatic diseases do not have a cure, but the outlook can be improved with accurate diagnosis, focused management and a sprinkle of ''laughter therapy''.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
