About

Mr Alexander Vaughan is a dual fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Hand & Wrist Surgeon, awarded the European Diploma in Hand Surgery in 2022. He specialises in all aspects of distal forearm, wrist, carpal and hand conditions, offering both surgical and non-surgical treatments tailored to each patient’s individual needs.

Mr Vaughan holds an NHS Consultant post at Frimley Park Hospital and is recognised for his caring, high-quality approach throughout the patient journey, from diagnosis and treatment to recovery and rehabilitation, with a strong focus on maximising functional outcomes through shared decision-making.

Mr Vaughan studied Medicine at Imperial College London, where he also completed a Master’s in Surgical Education. His thesis on orthopaedic training was awarded a merit. He went on to complete higher orthopaedic training in the Kent, Surrey & Sussex deanery, with time spent at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.

Alongside his clinical work, he serves as Clinical Audit & Research Lead for Trauma & Orthopaedics at Frimley Park. He is an active member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, the International Wrist Arthroscopy Society, and the International Bone & Research Society.

His previous roles include Trainee Representative on the BSSH Overseas Committee, and he has also worked as a team doctor for rugby league, judo championships, and as an expedition medic on Mount Kilimanjaro.
