About
He completed his core and higher surgical training across London, Oxford, and the Wessex deanery, following this was awarded a prestigious TIG Oncoplastic Fellowship at the Royal Free Hospital. This fellowship provided advanced training in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery, including close collaboration with plastic surgeons in autologous breast reconstruction techniques.
Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Heetun oversees the undergraduate breast teaching programme at St George’s Medical School and is also a member of the Medical Advisory Group for the breast cancer charity CoppaFeel!, supporting initiatives focused on patient education and breast cancer awareness.
Mr Heetun assesses and manages a wide range of breast and axillary symptoms, including breast lumps, nipple discharge, breast pain, and axillary lumps. His surgical practice includes lumpectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, mastectomy, axillary clearance, breast reduction, implant-based and autologous breast reconstruction, perforator flap procedures, and breast lump excisions, including selected procedures performed under local anaesthetic.
